Yes, she cheated. But he should listen when literally EVERYONE is telling him what an unfeeling asshole he always is....there's gotta be some reflection for him with that. Maybe he COULD have done more delegating, staying home some. And PPD is a very real thing & I'm glad the author brought it up as a probable cause....notice, I didn't say defense because it's NOT a defense. But, I HAD PPD after my son was born & I did things & said things I'd never, ever in a million years do or say. But, at the time I didn't realize what I was doing & saying was bad or wrong. Hell, maybe she has a brain tumor (they checked me for a brain tumor when I was acting so crazy & out of control & totally out of character....that's when, after blood work, they realized with the hormones in my body, I had PPD). She screwed up. She gets it. Cut her some slack.

A short, unpleasant story wherein everyone lost. Dianne fell into the PPD trap following a miscarriage; she ends up broke and alone. Darlene just seemed generally horrible person; she will be in jail for the rest of her life. Clearly MC died. He seemed ambitious career-wise, but asserted no will in the home aside from leaving and damaging the home.
I will always read this author, even if I don’t love the story.

This one just reminds me of the old adage, that two wrongs, don't make a right ... Yes, PPD is a real situation. Some women fight it, some women give in to it ... Then, there are those who chose to exploit the condition. Those bitches use it as a weapon to vindicate any and all wrong doings. 3 stars for the writing quality. What a great story, having had a wife that did suffer for ppd after the birth of a couple of our children, I can understand that she was not in a good place to make great decisions, but the longer the truth was with held the greater the cost, how would this have played out had the step brother still been alive.. But after years of tense marriage they finally rejoined and the family grew. A wonderful piece of writing
