Was a bit terse and jerky at times but the story us a good one.What I don't understand is if she so obviously loves him why she can't say she was sorry to him and then only perfunctorilly. As for the reality, many years ago and then again several years ago, it was my experience:

The abusive creep was whipsawed. Legal action forced him to pay a substantial compensation to his victim and his professional life was destroyed.
